Fit Guide

Ring, Bracelet & Necklace Sizing

A piece that is meant to be worn for generations should fit perfectly from the first day. Use this guide to measure at home, or book a consultation and we'll take your measurements ourselves.

Ring Sizing

The most accurate way to size a ring is in person during your consultation — but if you're ordering remotely or gifting a surprise, here's how to get it right.

A

String or Paper Strip

Wrap a strip of paper or string snugly around the base of the finger. Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimetres — this is the circumference.

B

Measure an Existing Ring

Take a ring that already fits the intended finger well and measure its inner diameter in millimetres with a ruler.

C

Best of All: In-Studio

Bring the wearer (or a well-fitting ring) to a consultation, and we'll size it precisely with a jeweller's mandrel.

Timing matters: Fingers swell slightly in heat and shrink in cold. Measure at the end of the day, when hands are warm, for the truest everyday size. If the ring has a wide band, size up by a quarter size for comfort.

Figures are industry-standard approximations. Nigerian jewellers commonly reference UK sizing; sizes may vary fractionally between markets, so we always confirm exact fit before crafting bespoke pieces.

Bracelet & Bangle Sizing

Bracelets are measured differently from bangles — one wraps and clasps, the other must slide over the hand.

Bracelets (Clasped)

1

Measure the Wrist

Wrap a soft tape (or string, then a ruler) snugly around the wrist, just past the wrist bone.

2

Choose Your Fit

Add ease depending on how you like it to sit — snug, comfortable, or loose.

3

Match to Chart

Use the wrist measurement and desired fit to find your bracelet length below.

Wrist MeasurementSizeRecommended Bracelet Length
5.5 – 6 in (14 – 15 cm)XS6 – 6.5 in (15 – 16.5 cm)
6 – 6.5 in (15 – 16.5 cm)S6.5 – 7 in (16.5 – 18 cm)

7.5 – 8 in (19 – 20.5 cm)XL8 – 8.5 in (20.5 – 21.5 cm)
Rule of thumb: add ½ in (1.25 cm) to your wrist measurement for a snug fit, ¾–1 in (2–2.5 cm) for a comfortable everyday fit, and 1.25 in+ (3 cm+) for a loose, statement drape.

Bangles (Rigid, Slide-On)

Because a bangle must pass over the widest part of the hand, measure across the knuckles (thumb tucked in) rather than the wrist alone.

Necklace Length Guide

Necklace "size" is really about where the piece falls on the body. Use this chart to choose a length for a single piece, or to plan a layered look.

Length NameApprox. SizeWhere It Sits
Collar12 – 13 in (30 – 33 cm)Tight at the base of the neck
Choker14 – 16 in (35 – 41 cm)Around the neck
Princess17 – 19 in (43 – 48 cm)At or just below the collarbone
Matinee20 – 24 in (51 – 61 cm)Just above the bust
Opera28 – 36 in (71 – 91 cm)Below the bust, near the sternum
Rope / Lariat36 in+ (91 cm+)Waist, or doubled/knotted for versatility
Layering tip: when stacking pendants or strands, leave at least 2 in (5 cm) between each length so every piece is visible — for example, a 14", 18", and 24" strand worn together. See our full Neckline & Necklace Pairing Guide for outfit-specific recommendations.

General Sizing Tips

Measure Twice

Take each measurement two or three times and use the average — small errors compound on delicate coral and pearl work.

Consider the Piece

Wide bands, layered coral collars, and heavier bangles all wear tighter than their measurement suggests — size up slightly.

Gifting Someone Else?

Borrow a well-fitting ring, bracelet, or necklace they already own to measure, rather than guessing.

Bespoke Means Exact

Every high jewellery and bridal commission includes an in-person or guided sizing session — nothing leaves the atelier until the fit is right.

"Fit is the first act of care a piece shows the person who will carry it forward."
